Most of the work exhibited in this show was completed during the encaustic painting workshop at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in the summer of 2011. The beautiful and peaceful environment fostered creativity beyond my imagination.
My keen interest in the wax medium grew as I fused each layer of wax with a heat source sometimes concealing what I painted and revealing the previous layer by simply applying more or less heat to the surface in precision.
